Production and sustainability

  • Where does the meat for SALOMON products come from?
In general, a large part of our raw material for the standard burger comes from Germany, where our parent company Vion also operates its own slaughterhouses (partly in cooperation with local producer groups) The animals and thus also the meat produced from them come from different regions of Germany, predominantly from southern Germany.
In general, we attach great importance to quality, regionality and animal welfare. In order to provide our customers with more information on this topic, our parent company Vion was the first meat group to launch the transparency offensive 3 years ago. The CSR Report (Corporate Social Responsibility), which is published annually and contains over 130 pages on our sustainable actions, provides further information. Information on all measures such as controls, slaughtering and quality assurance are shown on the following page: vion-transparenz.de/einblicke. For certifications we follow the high international standard IFS (International Featured Standard) and/or BRC (British Retail Consortium).

  • Where are SALOMON burgers produced?
We produce SALOMON FoodWorld beef burgers in our own factory at the company headquarters in Großostheim.

  • What vegetarian and/or vegan (plant-based) meat alternatives does SALOMON offer?
Our assortment offers a wide range of vegetarian and vegan products. In addition to vegetable-based vegetarian / vegan items, we have also developed the vegan "Green Heroes" range analogous to our meat top sellers: purely based on vegetable proteins (predominantly wheat) and exclusively for foodservice. Use the filter function on the assortment page on our website and be inspired by our vegan and vegetarian variety.
