Privacy statement

This Privacy Statement describes the type of personal details collected by SALOMON FoodWorld® GmbH and/or its subsidiaries (“SALOMON FoodWorld® GmbH”), for which purposes this is done and how the personal details are used, consulted, disclosed or otherwise processed and protected.

Personal data are individual items of information about the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. These include both items of information directly related to the person, like your first name and surname, and such data as may make it possible, in connection with other particulars, for you to be identified as a natural person, e.g. your telephone number.

APPLICABILITY

This Privacy Statement applies to all personal details collected by SALOMON FoodWorld® GmbH during interactions between you and SALOMON FoodWorld® GmbH in connection with the services it offers, including but not limited to all offline and online data collections of all personal details. This Privacy Statement forms a part of the Terms of Use of the SALOMON FoodWorld® GmbH website.

CHILDREN

The SALOMON FoodWorld® GmbH website and those of its affiliated companies are built for use by adults. If you are younger than 16 years of age, you must discuss the terms of this Privacy Statement with a parent/guardian and obtain their permission as well as make sure that you understand and accept its contents. If we discover that we have processed the personal details of a minor without the permission of a parent/guardian when this permission was required, these personal details will be deleted as soon as possible. We may use your personal details to carry out an age check.

USE OF DATA IN CONNECTION WITH JOB APPLICATIONS

We process personal data about you for the purpose of dealing with your application for a job or training position, in so far as this may be necessary for us to come to a decision that the award of such a position is justified. The legal basis for data processing in this connection is § 26, section 1 in conjunction with section 8, p. 2 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Furthermore we may process personal data about you in so far as this may be necessary in order to rebut legal claims that may be asserted against us arising from the application procedure. The legal basis for data processing in this connection is article 6, section 1, letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The ‘legitimate interest’ in this case may for example be the obligation of providing proof in proceedings having to do with the Allgemeine Gleichbehandlungsgesetz (AGG) [General Equal Opportunities Act].

If a contract of employment comes about between you and a company of the Group, in accordance with § 26, section 1 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) we may make use of the personal data we have already received from you for purposes associated with the contract of employment or traineeship, or in so far as may be necessary for the exercise or fulfilment of rights and obligations of the groups representing the interests of the workforce based on the statutes or on a works or service agreement (collective agreement).

We process data that are associated with your application. These may be general data relating to your person (e.g. name, address, contact details), details of your professional qualifications and educational history, details of your professional further training or any other particulars which you have conveyed to us in connection with your application. Apart from this, we may also process information relating to your profession which you have made publicly accessible, e.g. a profile you have set up on social media networks.

We will store your personal data for as long as is necessary in order to come to a decision about your application. If a contract of employment between yourself and us does not come about, we may furthermore continue to store data in so far as this may be necessary for us to defend ourselves against any possible legal claims. The application documents will be deleted six months after the communication of our decision in the negative, provided that it is not necessary to retain them for longer in connection with possible litigation.

The provision of personal data is not prescribed by statute nor is it contractually mandatory, nor are you obliged to provide us with your personal data. However, for a contract of employment or traineeship to be concluded with us, it is necessary for you to supply your personal data. This means that if you do not provide personal data along with your application, we will not enter into a contract of employment or traineeship with you.

No automated decisions, as understood by article 22 of the GDPR, take place. That is to say, the decision on your application will not be taken based exclusively on automated processing.

HOEFLER & CO. WEBFONTS

This website uses so-called web fonts supplied by Hoefler & Co. (typography.com) to ensure uniform presentation of typefaces. When you bring up a page your browser will download the required web fonts to your browser cache so that texts and typefaces are displayed correctly.
To facilitate this, your browser must establish a connection to the Hoefler & Co. (typography.com) servers. As a result of this Hoefler & Co. will have knowledge of the IP address you used to visit our website. Hoefler & Co. web fonts are used in the interest of providing a uniform presentation of our online offering. This is a ‘legitimate interest’ as defined by article 6, section 1, letter f of the GDPR.
If your browser does not support web fonts, one of your computer’s standard fonts will be used.
For more information on Hoefler & Co. web fonts visit typography.com/home/cloud-terms.php and read the Hoefler & Co. privacy statement available at typography.com/home/privacy.php.

SOCIAL PLUG-INS

Our website uses what are known as social plug-ins (‘plug-ins’) of the social networks Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. These services are operated by the companies Facebook Inc., Instagram LLC and YouTube LLC.

Facebook is operated by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, REPUBLIC OF IRELAND.

Instagram is operated by Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.

YouTube is operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

A plug-in is a software extension which can be discovered and linked in by a software application (in this case the browser) during the time for which it is active, in order to extend the browser’s functionality.

If you bring up a web page that has one of these plug-ins, the plug-in sets up a direct connection between your browser and the servers of Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, as a result of which in turn the content of the plug-in is transmitted to your browser and linked in by the latter with the website presented. Through the linking in of the plug-in, the providers receive the information that your browser has accessed the given page of our website even if you do not possess a profile or are not logged in. This information (including your IP address) is directly transmitted from your browser to the given provider in the USA and stored on their server. As this transmission is direct, we do not have any knowledge of the data transmitted. If, during your visit to our website, you are logged into Facebook with your personal user account, one of the social media referred to above can allocate your visit to the website to this account, in such a way that the information acquires a specific personal identity. This naturally also applies when you use the plug-ins (e.g. “Like”) or post comments. In so far as you are logged in and activate the appropriate button, this information will furthermore be published on the social network and displayed to your contacts.

You can find out about the purpose and scope of data registration and further processing by the providers, as well as your rights in this respect and the options of adjusting browser settings to safeguard your privacy, by consulting the privacy statements of the providers. The privacy statements of Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation), Instagram (https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388) and YouTube (https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en) give information about the purpose and scope of data registration by Facebook, Instagram and YouTube and the further processing and use of your data and associated rights, as well as about the options of adjusting browser settings to safeguard your privacy. If you wish to avoid the direct transmission of data to your Facebook user account, you are advised to visit our website only at times when you are not logged in to Facebook.

If you do not want Facebook, Instagram or YouTube to allocate the data collected about your website appearance directly to your profile on the respective service, you must log out of the service in question before your first visit to our website. You can also prevent the loading of the plug-ins completely with the help of add-ons for your browser, e.g. by using a script blocker.

Via our website, a cookie is issued by the American company Google Inc., (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) (Google), as part of the Analytics service. The web analysis tool Mouseflow records randomly selected individual visits (only with anonymized IP addresses). This creates a log of mouse movements and clicks with the intention of randomly replaying individual website visits and deriving potential improvements for the website from this. The data collected with Mouseflow will not be used to personally identify the visitor to this website without the separate consent of the person concerned and will not be combined with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR out of the legitimate interest in direct customer communication and in the needs-based design of the website. For reasons arising from your particular situation, you have the right to object at any time to this processing of your personal data based on Art. 6 (1) f GDPR. To do this, you can globally deactivate recording on all websites that use Mouseflow for the browser you are currently using using the following link: https://mouseflow.de/opt-out/
